Thailand October 2002, part 1

part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5   Back to picture index

October is in the rainy season in Thailand. During all the trip it didn't rain very much though. But one night in Bangkok it rained a lot all night, and then the streets looked like this the next morning..

Mini Siam is a park outside Pattaya where they have miniatures of many famous places and buidlings. Mostly from Thailand but also some from the rest of the world. For example from Egypt like here.

This is a model of Don Muang, Bangkok's international airport.

This is a big tempel that I can't remember the name of..
Update 9 March 2003: Pu, who is the grandmaster of Thai history, pointed out that this is actually Wat Phra Si San Phet in Ayutthaya. During the Ayutthaya period (1650-1767) it was the grand palace. Nowadays it is only ruins left of it. Archeologists say that Wat Phra Si San Phet is the model of the present grand palace, Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.
